The Carrots & Potatoes Show officially launched in April 2025 – but its story began much earlier, in 2023. The idea was born out of conversations and inspiration from Geshe Michael Roach, who envisioned a unique video show about healthy food. His vision was simple yet powerful: to show people how small, mindful changes in the way we eat can have a lasting impact on our health, our mindset, and even the world around us.

As a lifelong scholar of the ancient philosophies of India, China, West-China, and Mongolia, Geshe Michael has dedicated more than 50 years to studying, practicing, and teaching timeless wisdom. He has translated many classic works into modern language and is deeply committed to making these teachings accessible and practical in everyday life. For him, wisdom is not something abstract – it is a guide to how we live, how we think, and even how we eat.

Building on this inspiration, the Carrots & Potatoes Show was created as a platform that unites food and wisdom. At its heart, the show is not just about recipes – it is about connection. We believe that every meal carries meaning: it connects us to culture, to memory, to nature, and to each other. By combining healthy, plant-based food with sparks of ancient wisdom, we aim to create an experience that nourishes both body and mind.
